“Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And as he was praying the appearance of his countenance was altered, and his raiment became dazzling white. And behold, two men talked with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was to accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep but kept awake, and they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is well that we are here; let us make three booths, one for you and one for Elijah” –not knowing what he said. As her said this, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen, listen to him!” And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. Many special events are held at the Basilica Shrine of the Il Volto Santo in Manoppello, Italy, leading up to the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus. The Basilica contains a very precious relic veil, on which one may see–according to the light–the Holy Face of Jesus. The conference speakers included Author Paul Badde, who gave an intriguing talk on the message that God has bestowed on the world, through the means of a gift: a miraculous veil bearing the Holy Face of the Father’s “Beloved Son.” Paul’s talk, which has been translated by Raymond Frost, may be read in its entirety by clicking here: “The Medium is the Message,” on The Holy Face of Manoppello Blogspot.

All of us, gazing on the Lord’s glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory into his very image by the Lord who is the Spirit.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts, that we in turn might make known the glory shining on the face of Christ.
